All Funds Raised Were Donated to Jack of Hearts of NEPA

Friday, December 20, 2019- NET Credit Union held two successful fundraisers this year: 3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament & 6th Annual NEToberfest Golf Tournament. All funds raised went to the Jack of Hearts of NEPA. NET Credit Union donated $15,000 to the deserving charity.

Created by Lisa & Donny Scarfo, Jack of Hearts of NEPA is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to supporting the families of pediatric cardiac patients in NEPA, as well as supporting other local charities and congenital heart defect research. Lisa and Donny welcomed twin boys, Jack and Nathan, in 2008. Jack was prenatally diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Upon learning of their son’s diagnosis, The Scarfo’s quickly realized that there were very limited support networks in our local NEPA area. The Scarfo’s started Jack of Hears to support and help other local families like theirs. The donation will benefit children in our NEPA area suffering from congenital heart defects.

About

A Credit Union is a place to do your banking – we do loans, have checking and savings accounts, credit cards, mortgages, and other banking items.  We are a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution, and operate like a bank except we don’t issue stock on Wall St. Since we don’t have to pay stockholders, we can use our income to provide lower loan rates, higher deposit rates, and do other things like reinvest in our community, give to charities, and keep our fees low for services. At NET Credit Union, we don’t have customers, we have members. Members have voting rights as to how the credit union operates. Our board of directors are volunteers – they don’t’ get paid to sit on the board. When you bank with NET, your money stays right here, local. There’s so much more you get when you bank on NET.
